Cake baking

almond and orange cake

Made an almond and orange cake yesterday. Came out really well – very dense and moist. 5 eggs, 350 (!) grams of ground almonds, the zest and juice of 2 oranges and 1 lemon – plus lots of sugar and butter of course!

I haven’t really done any baking in ages and I was pleased with the end result. What I also really want to start doing is making bread. To this end, I’ve been eyeing up proper food mixers (either Kenwood Chef or Kenwood Prospero, most likely). Have always wanted one but never quite nailed down the buying of one.
